The population of Evangeline Parish is 33,636 making up 12,051 households.  According to the 2018 United Way ALICE Report, 40% of our families are struggling to make ends meet, and another 25% are living in poverty.  That means that 65% are one emergency away from a financial crisis.  

ALICE is an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed.  Evangeline Community Action recognizes the data shown in the United Way ALICE Report, and works to address the needs of the most vulnerable in our community by providing needed resources.  

We know what it takes to survive, and our efforts to reach people where they are, and to help improve their condition in the areas of housing, childhood development, food, health care, job training, and more is our goal.
